Description

If you are practicing Olympic-style weightlifting and need more instruction to make improvements, this plan was designed for you! This plan is the start of a new series to help you identify common faults, demonstrate progressive drills and assistance exercises, and discusses strategies to implement these drills. This series is a must-have for athletes of any level who is looking to continue to improve their efficiency, clean up their technique, and building a stronger base.

In this plan, Coach Diane Fu of FuBarbell will help you identify and address common foot faults. Regardless of how strong you are, poor footwork will be the biggest compromise to your speed, balance, power, and the overall success of your lifts. Watch and practice with Coach Fu as she demonstrates and coaches you to identify, address, and train through a series of progressions to establish best practices while eliminating bad footwork patterns.

Prior experience with the Snatch and Clean and Jerk is preferred, as this plan will place emphasis on developing good positions, speed, and technique for those lifts. We recommend completing the Olympic-Style Lifting Starter plan to become familiar with the relevant positions and movements.

I began CrossFit about a year ago, and I started this plan to get a more in depth approach at the Olympic lifts and especially the fundamentals.

The reason I chose to purchase Diane's plan on @codyapp over following someone's online blog for oly lifting is that it includes an video for every workout that covers every movement you will be doing in detail. I also know what to do every day of the week and can watch other people doing the the same workouts and learn from their posts. I feel it provides a sense of online community that you can learn a lot from.

The first thing I've noticed is how poorly my shoulder strength is in my jerk. It has also really helped with my understanding of the bar path from the floor to the second pull. I am very excited to see how the rest of the plan turns out and would be stoked for any future plans! Thanks Diane fu and team!

I've been lifting for 3 years. after a 5 month hiatus I was ready & focused to get back under the barbell. I bought your plan to do so. The videos are fantastic. Nice, slow, precise. Pointing out key elements in the lifts are great for newcomers and experienced lifters back that are getting back on the platform. the movement practice is great! It allows me to work on key elements of the lifts, slow things down and I can sense where my weaknesses are which is hugely useful.

I joined the Cody community few weeks ago and I was delighted to see that my favourite Olympic weightlifting coach Diane Fu, has an Oly lift starter program. I was always a big fan of Olympic lifts, used them years before my CrossFit journey but I never had any official training until I got my Level 1 Trainer Certificate; before that all I had was Diane's and Mike Burgner's videos, going back to basics was something on my mind for a while now.
