Focus on improving your strength and full range of motion using kettlebells. In this HIIT class, you’ll start with a warmup that includes Shoulder Taps and Reverse Lunges. Then, you’ll build heat in your lower body with Goblet Squats, Russian Swings, and Romanian Deadlifts. Giorgio Merlino, who goes by Gio at Alo HQ, is a fitness instructor from Italy. He moved to Los Angeles two years ago and is now one of the head trainers at Alo Wellness Club, where he teaches personal workout classes with models, influencers, and athletes.

Gio began his fitness journey through taekwondo, and after many years competing in that sport, he started practicing powerlifting and bodybuilding. Armed with a World Fitness Trainer certification, he was featured not once, but twice on the Men’s Health Italy cover. He enjoys the transformation that comes with fitness — not just the physical aspect, but the mental aspect as well. When he’s not working hard and motivating others in the gym, you can find him outdoors either at the beach or hiking one of the many trails in Los Angeles.
