Tela Anderson, a Real Pilates® instructor, has been drawn to movement her whole life. She began gymnastics training at four years old and competed nationally by the age of 10. At 13, Tela decided to enter the world of dance. She attended some of the most prestigious art schools in the country, including the North Carolina School of the Arts, Virginia School of the Arts, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She traveled around the world as an elite competitive gymnast and professional dancer.

After retiring from gymnastics and dance, she decided to channel her love of movement into a fitness career. She received her certification in personal training and group fitness and taught at various gyms in New York City. After injuring her knee, she turned to Pilates for rehabilitation and fell in love with the classical method. She completed her Pilates training in 2005 and has been inspiring others to transform their lives through movement ever since. Today, Tela is a lead Pilates teacher trainer and dance instructor in NYC.
