Candice Swanepoel is a model, philanthropist, and founder and creative director of Tropic of C, an eco-lifestyle and swimsuit brand inspired by nature and powered by sustainability and community.
Candice was born in a South African village called Mooi River, where she grew up on a farm and spent her childhood surrounded by nature and family. From a young age, she had a passion for the earth, beauty, and fashion. Her modeling career took off after she was discovered by a talent scout in a flea market as a teenager, and she began to book jobs all across Europe. After debuting in her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2007, she officially became an Angel in 2010 and continues to model for the brand to this day, along with other editorial and high fashion work. She eventually channeled her love for nature and sustainability into founding Tropic of C, and she also serves as a patron and ambassador for mothers2mothers, an organization working to end HIV/AIDS and create bright futures for women and families across sub-Saharan Africa.
Despite her high-profile projects that take her all over the world, Candice says she’s the happiest hiding away on a beach with her two sons. She enjoys keeping up with her nutrition and exercise, citing yoga, Pilates, and resistance training as some of her favorite ways to stay in shape.
